Nur Islamic School of Louisville is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Bothaina Ali Scholarship for Perseverance for the 2026-2027 school year.
Established by Nur Islamic School of Louisville in October 2025, this scholarship honors Sr. Bothaina Ali's 20 years of faithful, consistent, and sincere service to NISL. Throughout her years at the school, Sr. Bothaina exemplified dedication, perseverance, humility, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to serving students, families, and the NISL community.
To honor her legacy, NISL will award one full-tuition scholarship each year to a student who demonstrates the same qualities of perseverance, dedication, consistency, strong character, and commitment to personal growth.
This scholarship is intended to recognize students who continue striving through challenges, work hard quietly and consistently, demonstrate responsibility and integrity, and serve as positive role models within our school community.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
May Allah (SWT) reward those who persevere with patience and excellence. "And be patient, for indeed Allah does not allow the reward of those who do good to be lost." (Qur'an 11:115)

- Current NISL students entering grades 6-12 for the 2026-2027 school year, or
- Newly accepted incoming students entering grades 6-12 for the 2026-2027 school year
- Demonstrate perseverance, dedication, responsibility, sincerity, and strong character
- Complete the scholarship application thoughtfully and honestly
- Be committed to personal growth and academic success
- Award: One full year of NISL tuition
- Duration: One academic school year
- Renewability: Non-renewable; students may reapply annually
- Application Deadline: June 15, 2026
- Recipient Announcement: June 30, 2026
