Quran, Arabic, & Islamic Studies
About Our Class
Our Middle School Islamic Studies program is designed to educate your child about the fundamentals of Islamic knowledge and to enable them to properly implement that knowledge as Muslim youth in America. We aim to nurture our students into proud, knowledgeable, practicing Muslims who are fully confident in their faith and who hold on firmly to the values of our religion in all aspects of their lives. We have designed specific Islamic Studies standards in order to assist us in achieving these lofty goals. Our standards focus on aqeedah and beliefs, character and manners, acts of worship and rulings, Islamic identity and sense of purpose, as well as du’as and etiquettes. We use a variety of resources in order to teach toward these standards including the ICO Islamic studies curriculum, lessons in Tafseer of Quran, Seerah of the Prophet (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) and a variety of activities and discussions. Our Arabic curriculum is based on the “Arabic with Husna” program presented by Bayyinah Institute. The description of the program is as follows: “Arabic with Husna intends to take the student to very advanced Arabic. This means that by the end of the course, you will have the ability to explain Arabic in Arabic InshaAllah. In terms of the understanding of the Arabic language upon completion, the student will have knowledge of both classical Arabic (used for Qur'an studies) and modern Arabic (used for modern conversational Arabic).” The Program begins with the fundamentals of Arabic Grammar and then moves into the basics of Morphology. We also use the “Al Arabiyah Bayna Yadayk” series which targets rapid improvement in Arabic vocabulary, reading, writing, and conversation skills. |

I began teaching in 2006 and I have taught various subjects and grade levels ranging from Kindergarten to Middle School and from Social Studies, Math and Science to Islamic Studies, Quran, and Arabic. I am extremely passionate about Islamic education and cultivating our Muslim youth upon the core values of Islam according to the traditional teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. I believe every child should be encouraged to reach their full potential and to become contributing members of society while maintaining a strong Islamic identity. I am currently pursuing my teaching certification and I am an active member in the community delivering Friday sermons in various local mosques.
